Job Overview
In AAAS’s gold open access journal Science Advances, Editorial Coordinators play a critical role in processing the weekly manuscript flow. They coordinate with Senior Editorial Coordinators, Editorial Associates, and Editorial Managers to ensure high-quality and rapid manuscript processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as direct point of contact for 6-8 Deputy Editor groups.
- Process new submissions, revised manuscripts, and appeals.
- Answer editorial queries from authors, reviewers, and editors.
- Coordinate with internal staff and vendors to resolve issues.
- Assist with cover captions, feature article blurbs, and social media posts.
- Review and transmit final galley proofs.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience, a bachelor’s degree (preferably in English or a science-related discipline), experience in project management, and strong communication and organizational skills. Copyediting experience is a plus.
