This is a temporary project-related assignment for 36 hours per week, starting March 16, 2026, and ending December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension. ZZP (freelance) is allowed. Candidates MUST currently live in the Netherlands; relocation is not possible. English-only speakers are welcome.

Organization/Department: Customer Insights & Hyperpersonalisation (CIH)

The Grid Customer Insights & Hyperpersonalisation (CIH) comprises over 120 individuals across more than 20 teams, all dedicated to making digital banking genuinely personal for every customer. Our core mission is to establish a comprehensive 360° customer view, harnessing vast data to deliver personalized content, relevant offers, and actionable insights. This empowers customers to achieve their financial aspirations. We cater to all customer segments and countries, initially focusing on the Netherlands before expanding internationally.

Our grid effectively connects and standardizes all pertinent digital channels, ensuring smooth, hyperpersonalized experiences at every customer touchpoint. By thoroughly understanding customer intent, we cultivate valuable, continuous relationships and enable both customers and the bank to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Your Role as Senior Business Developer Operations

In this dynamic role, you will proactively engage with diverse stakeholders, including business owners, Legal and Compliance teams, and other departments responsible for technical component development. Your primary goal will be to identify opportunities for enhancing our features and capabilities by skillfully probing for underlying needs. You will challenge both existing problems and proposed solutions, always seeking the fundamental question behind the initial request to arrive at a truly effective solution.

You will be responsible for creating clear overviews of business requirements, identifying impacted systems and necessary data sources, and articulating the process impact lucidly in user stories. The objective is to provide developers with precise, actionable requirements, enabling them to commence work immediately. Furthermore, you will actively participate in testing, gather relevant data, and provide concrete input for future optimization efforts. Fundamentally, your strong analytical skills will be the bedrock for transforming complex information into practical requirements and solutions.

You will collaborate very closely with product owners and their teams, undertaking key business development activities:

• Intakes: Systematically probe for underlying business needs through in-depth questioning, challenging both the stated problems and initial solution proposals.
• Requirements Definition: Develop clear, comprehensive overviews of business requirements, identifying all affected systems and essential data sources.
• User Story Translation: Convert complex business requirements into well-structured, detailed user stories that are readily actionable for developers.
• Testing Participation: Engage in testing activities to validate developed solutions and confirm that all requirements have been met accurately.
• Data Gathering: Collect pertinent data to inform decision-making processes and facilitate future optimization initiatives.
• Digital Strategy Contribution: Play an active role in shaping the digital strategy by participating in the development of new digital value propositions.

Requirements & Desired Skills

Successful candidates will deliver well-prepared and high-quality epics and user stories that enable development teams to proceed efficiently.

Relevant knowledge, skills, competencies & desired education level:

• You have completed a higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) education and possess at least 2 years of experience in a digital environment.
• You are highly analytical, demonstrating proficiency in concretizing business value, writing precise user stories (potentially supported with Visio), describing and documenting process flows, and employing effective methods for gathering and recording customer needs (e.g., workshops, customer research).
• You exhibit strong communication skills, unafraid to ask critical questions about problems and solutions, demonstrating resilience, and capable of guiding stakeholders toward consensus on solutions. You can also clearly explain functionalities to both technical developers and less technically inclined stakeholders.
• You work meticulously and precisely, dedicating full effort to define sharp and unambiguous requirements for developers.
• You are self-reflective, actively and openly pursuing personal and professional development.
• You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written (English-only speakers are welcome, but Dutch is a plus).
• You are enthusiastic about sharing experiences with fellow business developers and eager to learn from others.
