Job Description

Merchandise Production Consultant at A24

A24 is engaging an independent contractor to manage the merchandise production process for a popular adult animated television series. The contractor will apply their professional expertise and independent judgment to oversee product development, manufacturing, and logistics, operating autonomously to deliver results within agreed timelines. This is a part time 6-month engagement, with the possibility to extend as projects expand or continue.

Scope of Work

The Merchandise Production Consultant will independently execute the following project deliverables:

  • Production Management
    • Conduct ongoing tracking of all merchandise across development, sampling, production, and transit stages, proactively identifying and resolving issues independently.
    • Maintain pricing models and track all production and freight costs, exercising discretion in budget management decisions.
    • Coordinate sample reviews and approvals with relevant stakeholders, using professional judgment to escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Operations & Logistics
    • Assist with creation of product pages, SKUs, and barcodes.
    • Request, track, and code POs and invoices for services, samples, materials, and product production.
    • Manage inbound/outbound shipments with Brand Operations team.
  • Product Ideation & Market Research (~1–2 hrs/week each)
    • Contribute product ideation based on market knowledge and expertise.
    • Conduct market research to inform product development decisions.
    • Research new vendors and suppliers, drawing on an established network and expertise to identify best-fit partners.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated professional experience in merchandise production and project management.
  • Established network of trusted vendors with demonstrated ability to independently source new suppliers.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgment without day-to-day supervision.
  • Strong proficiency in project management software and e-commerce/CMS platforms.
  • Experience managing end-to-end product lifecycles across diverse product categories.
  • Photoshop proficiency a plus.
