Purpose of the Role

This Machine Operator position is crucial for performing various production responsibilities, primarily focused on operating machinery. While manufacturing floor experience is required, specific training will be provided for equipment such as centerless grinders, saws, and bar chamfering machines. The role also encompasses general material handling and dimensional inspections. You will be responsible for safely operating essential equipment like overhead cranes and forklifts to manage product movement and storage within the warehouse. Waterjet experience is a significant plus for this role.

The pay rate for this position is $25.00 per hour, plus eligibility for incentives. Working hours are from 7am to 3:30pm.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment to fulfill customer obligations effectively.
• Perform various material movement tasks for orders in process.
• Safely utilize assigned power equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks, to move materials and meet order requirements.
• Adhere strictly to standard work procedures for all machinery and equipment operations.
• Work under immediate supervision, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Identify and report any defects or excessive wear and tear on equipment promptly; may assist with equipment setup and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a consistently clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in production environments.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
• Basic competency in using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
• Fundamental mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a warehouse setting.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This role requires various physical demands including manual dexterity (grasping, hand/wrist movement), prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending, and reaching. It involves pushing/pulling, light lifting (25lbs or less), and heavy lifting (25-50lbs). Exposure to powered industrial equipment is expected, as is the operation of machinery and/or power tools. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to a training plan is mandatory.
