About The Role
8am is seeking an expert Github Migration Consultant to lead a high-priority enterprise consolidation project. You will migrate and centralize source code from various GitHub Organizations and BitBucket instances into a unified 8am GitHub Enterprise Organization. The role focuses on establishing a gold-standard environment emphasizing governance, security compliance (PCI, SOC 2, PII), and seamless CI/CD integration.
What You'll Do
- Governance & Architecture: Architect GitHub Org structure, implement nested teams and roles, integrate IAM with Okta/Workday, standardize repo naming, and create policies.
- Discovery & Analysis: Audit GitHub Actions and CircleCI pipelines, analyze permission deltas, and clean up legacy repositories.
- Migration Execution: Configure and deploy migration tools, lead migration weekends, and apply programmatic tagging and team ownership.
- Validation & Handover: Coordinate UAT with Product Owners and deliver a comprehensive GitHub Lifecycle Playbook.
About You
You are an expert in GitHub Administration with proven migration experience and proficiency in Terraform. Familiarity with security compliance, Okta/Workday integrations, and CI/CD tools such as CircleCI and GitHub Actions is crucial. Experience with AI tools to improve workflows is a plus.

Additional Information
This is a 6-month temporary contract role with competitive hourly pay ($90 - $100 per hour). The position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime.
