Role Overview

The role requires an experienced Cloud Architect to design and implement a scalable Palo Alto Firewall architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. This is an 8-week, part-time engagement (~25 hours per week) focused on design, documentation, and advisory during deployment.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: Lead the design of scalable firewall architecture across Production and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments on GCP, develop detailed blueprints, and ensure compliance with cloud governance.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop reusable Terraform modules for firewall deployment and supporting GCP resources, including documentation of input variables and IAM requirements.
• Deployment & Advisory: Provide advisory support during implementation and UAT, validate the architecture, and ensure proper integration with monitoring systems.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Deliver design documentation, Terraform artifacts, and architecture diagrams, along with conducting knowledge transfer sessions to client engineering teams.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of professional experience in cloud architecture and network security, deep expertise in GCP (including VPCs, IAM, Load Balancers), proven hands-on experience with Terraform and Palo Alto Networks firewalls, and excellent communication skills for client engagement and technical documentation.
