50Hertz has long been committed to the energy transition, aiming to ensure future-proof system management for a 100% renewable energy system. To achieve this, 50Hertz is driving the digitalization of system operations, including the development of software, a platform, and digital products such as the Modular Control Center System (MCCS).

While MCCS is developed internally, various external cooperations are established with partners pursuing similar goals. The objective of these partnerships is to jointly advance the digitalization of the energy transition.

As an Advisor Cooperation Digitalisation & System Operations, you will be part of the Advisory & Cooperation team within System Operations, responsible for collaborations with national and international partners. You will work at the interface between internal software development and external cooperation.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment of a community for Digital System Operations, focusing on the strategic development and implementation of concrete IT-technical collaboration with grid operators, research institutions, industry, and other energy sector partners.
• Advise on, plan, and develop relevant regional, national, and international cooperations within the context of system operations and digitalization.
• Implement a proactive internal and external communication strategy.
• Represent 50Hertz at various events, such as conferences or online events.
• Create and maintain cooperation agreements, memoranda of understanding, and non-disclosure agreements with relevant partners.
• Collaborate with colleagues from diverse areas within 50Hertz on digitalization and related topics.
• Maintain continuous exchange with relevant stakeholders, from management to specialists, gaining a broad spectrum of knowledge as a positive side effect.

Your Profile

• University degree in Engineering, Energy Economics, Computer Science, or a comparable qualification.
• Willingness to travel to foster exchange with partners.
• Practical knowledge of the technical, economic, and legal frameworks and interrelationships in the energy industry.
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and high cooperation and moderation abilities.
• Language proficiency: German (B2) and English (B2).

Not a Must, but an Advantage

• Ideally, you bring prior experience in grid control systems (SCADA & EMS), software/product development, IT consulting, or agile software development.
• Ideally, you have prior experience with digital transformation or change management.
