The Opportunity
As the Senior Business Development Manager - EU Southern and Western, you will lead commercial growth across Southern and Western Europe. You will drive new business development, deepen existing relationships, and expand 4basebio's footprint in the synthetic DNA space for the CGT market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute territory business plans to meet sales goals.
- Identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities in biotech and pharmaceutical accounts.
- Leverage your network and attend industry events to build a robust opportunity pipeline.
- Champion the synthetic DNA platform through technical and commercial presentations.
- Coordinate deep-dives with internal SMEs to support evaluations.
- Manage complex customer relationships from plasmid DNA to synthetic DNA transitions.
- Represent 4basebio at conferences and trade shows to enhance brand visibility.
- Serve as the voice of the customer to drive product development and strategic planning.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, maintain CRM records, and travel frequently (at least 50% field travel).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, or related field (advanced preferred).
- Minimum 7 years technical sales experience in CGT or biologics CDMO/CMO services.
- Deep knowledge of synthetic biology, gene therapy workflows, GMP manufacturing, and regulatory concerns.
- Established network in key biotech hubs across pharma and biotech.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
- Proficiency in English; a second European language is an advantage.
Working Conditions
This is a remote field-based role with frequent travel across Europe, including to our HQ in Cambridge, UK, and attendance at industry events.
