The Opportunity: Senior Social Media Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Social Media Specialist to play a pivotal role in shaping 1Password’s global social media presence. This position focuses on our consumer and enterprise password manager businesses, sports marketing, partner/channel initiatives, and employer branding. You will be instrumental in fostering brand love, driving awareness, and bringing our products, campaigns, and partnerships to life through creative, social-first storytelling.

As a highly creative marketer with strong consumer instincts and B2B SaaS experience, you will lead social programs that connect emotionally, demonstrate cultural relevance, and reinforce 1Password’s trusted reputation. This role involves close collaboration with communications, brand, product marketing, creative, sports marketing, and channel/partnerships teams to execute major consumer social campaigns, lead ongoing social-first programs, support sports marketing initiatives, drive partner/channel social programs, and enhance employee advocacy and employer branding efforts.

This is a remote role based within the US or Canada, reporting directly to the Director, Communications and Social Media.

What We’re Looking For

  • Audience-aware storytelling: An exceptional writer and editor capable of adapting tone and messaging for diverse audiences, including consumers, business leaders, and IT buyers, while maintaining the distinctive 1Password brand voice.
  • Consumer and B2B SaaS experience: Over 3 years of experience managing social channels and campaigns for a global brand, encompassing both consumer marketing and B2B SaaS. Cybersecurity experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Cross-platform strategy and execution: Demonstrated expertise in developing channel strategies and publishing content across key platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Reddit, Threads, Mastodon, and Facebook, as well as emerging platforms.
  • Social-first content creator: Proficient in creating high-quality social copy and assets, including carousels, short-form video, and motion-friendly concepts optimized for native performance across various platforms.
  • Video-forward and creatively confident: Comfortable both creating video content independently and directing others, collaborating closely with designers, editors, creators, and internal spokespeople to actualize ideas.
  • Creative collaboration: Experience partnering effectively with brand and creative teams to develop visually compelling, on-trend, and culturally relevant campaigns, activations, and content series.
  • Employee advocacy experience: Experience managing or contributing to employee advocacy programs, empowering employees to authentically represent the brand on social media, utilizing tools like Sprout Social.
  • Insights-driven mindset: Ability to interpret social analytics, identify trends early, and leverage performance insights to refine strategy, test new ideas, and continuously improve results.
  • Proactive and resourceful: A self-starter who actively seeks out stories, opportunities, and engagement moments. Thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and drives impact without constant direction.

  • Build and scale brand love: Execute consumer-led social campaigns that strengthen trust, awareness, and emotional connection to the 1Password brand.
  • Elevate the password manager business: Enhance visibility and understanding of 1Password’s consumer and enterprise password manager through clear, compelling, and approachable storytelling.
  • Sports marketing and partnerships: Support and activate our sports marketing programs and brand partnerships with social-first thinking, creative execution, and real-time engagement.
  • Channel marketing/partnerships: Support and activate our partner programs through relationship building, social-first thinking, creative execution, and real-time engagement.
  • Campaign and program support: Collaborate with communications, product marketing, brand, partnerships, creative, and people teams to support launches, campaigns, and ongoing brand initiatives.
  • Employee advocacy and internal alignment: Work with internal stakeholders to amplify company news, product moments, and culture storytelling externally.
  • Strengthen our employer brand: Help shape 1Password’s presence as an employer on social media, highlighting our people, culture, values, and employee experiences authentically.
  • Content development: Create outstanding copy and social-first assets such as videos, carousels, and campaign concepts that simplify complex ideas and spark conversation.
  • Channel execution and management: Oversee day-to-day social publishing, engagement, and moderation across key channels, ensuring content quality, consistency, and strong performance.
  • Community engagement: Actively listen, engage, and participate in relevant conversations, helping 1Password show up authentically and expand its community.
  • Measurement and reporting: Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), report on performance, and provide insights and recommendations to continuously improve social strategy.

Compensation

For USA-based roles, the annual base salary ranges from $93,000 USD to $130,000 USD, complemented by immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k), generous paid time off, an equity grant, and incentive programs.

For Canada-based roles, the annual base salary ranges from $93,000 CAD to $130,000 CAD, alongside immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP), generous paid time off, an equity grant, and incentive programs.

1Password ensures fair market value and internal equity in compensation, commensurate with individual experience and specific skill sets.
