We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager, Strategic Operations to lead and oversee our strategic initiatives and operational functions. This is an individual contributor role that will lead cross-functional initiatives critical to 1Password’s growth trajectory, collaborating with senior leaders to achieve business objectives. Leveraging their project management and strategic thinking, the Senior Manager, Strategic Operations will guide and mentor team members, driving continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality results that meet or exceed expectations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What We’re Looking For
- 7-9+ years of experience in strategic operations and/or program management.
- Previous experience in the SaaS industry and familiarity with Tech and Security environments are considered an asset.
- Proven track record of successfully leading strategic initiatives and driving execution.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills.
- Execution mindset and proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated growth mindset with thirst for identifying growth opportunities and a knack for identifying and solving ambiguous problems.
- Consistently seen as the go-to person for programs they lead with a track record for accountability and execution.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and change, with a can-do attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Comfort working with structured data, systems thinking, and lightweight technical concepts (e.g., data models, dashboards, automation tools) to support scalable program design.
- Demonstrated curiosity about emerging technologies and a proactive approach to experimenting with tools that enhance team effectiveness.
What You Can Expect
- Develop and implement strategic and operational plans to optimize efficiency, strengthen cross-functional execution and align business operations with organizational priorities.
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams to drive execution of key strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct thorough analysis of current processes and identify areas for improvement, proposing innovative solutions to enhance operations.
- Translate high-level objectives into actionable plans and roadmaps for both new programs and nebulous mid-flight initiatives and proactively adapt strategies as business needs evolve.
- Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to enhance decision-making processes and ensuring recommendations are implemented.
- Identify and communicate to leadership on progress, challenges and opportunities for strategic initiatives.
- Drive change management initiatives by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, serving as a connector between teams to ensure alignment, remove blockers and deliver shared outcomes.
- Anticipate and address potential conflicts or obstacles, maintaining focus on solutions to maintain team cohesion and productivity.
- Take full ownership and accountability for the success of strategic initiatives, from planning through execution to measurable impact.
- Proactively explore and evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to improve team workflows, scale programs, and increase operational efficiency.
- Leverage modern tooling (including AI-assisted analysis and workflow automation) to accelerate insight generation, program management, and cross-functional execution.
