The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal Solutions Architect, AWS Alliances to join our AWS Partnership team. In this pivotal remote role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor, leading technical enablement for our AWS-based partnerships. You will collaborate closely with AWS’s technical teams to define the technical roadmap for engagement, ensuring that sales teams are well-equipped to effectively position and support the sales process for our solutions.

Your contribution will be crucial in driving successful technical engagements, and your ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders is paramount to achieving success in this position. This is a remote opportunity available within Canada and the US.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience with AWS services in a Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar technical role, with a preference for experience in cybersecurity or cloud computing. This includes 3+ years of experience in designing, implementing, or consulting on applications and infrastructures.
  • Deep understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices, with demonstrated experience in security-focused AWS services.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing identity standards, including SAML 2.0, OAuth 2, and OIDC, alongside modern security principles such as zero trust, multi-factor authentication, and passwordless technologies.
  • Expertise in designing solutions with IAM platforms like Okta, Active Directory, Entra ID, and AWS Cognito, to enable single sign-on services for applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing high-quality technical artifacts, reference architectures, and white papers for diverse audiences, including customers, partners, and solution architects.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity concepts, protocols, and industry standards, encompassing network security, encryption, identity management, and threat detection.
  • Comprehensive understanding of scalable cloud infrastructure principles and in-depth knowledge of generative AI solutions such as Amazon Bedrock and Anthropic.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, product, and marketing.
  • Strongly Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional, AWS Certified Security Specialty, or relevant industry certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM).

  • Solution Design & Implementation: Design tailored security solutions that seamlessly integrate our SaaS cybersecurity platform with AWS services, ensuring secure cloud-native deployments.
  • AI Solutions: Provide strategic guidance on designing and implementing scalable cloud infrastructures optimized for integrating and leveraging generative AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with AWS Technical Teams: Work closely with AWS’s engineering, solutions architecture, and business teams to establish a strategic technical roadmap for engagement.
  • Enable Partner Success: Offer ongoing technical support and enablement to partner teams, empowering them to effectively position and deploy our solutions for AWS-based clients.
  • Drive Technical Workshops & Trainings: Conduct technical workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing sessions to equip AWS partners with the expertise to promote and sell our solution.
  • Pre-Sales Support: Assist in pre-sales activities by addressing technical inquiries, creating compelling demos, and providing architectural guidance to meet customer needs effectively.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate in customer meetings as a technical expert, ensuring appropriate solution positioning, addressing technical concerns, and supporting the sales process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal product and engineering teams to provide field feedback, ensuring our products evolve to meet the needs of our AWS partner ecosystem.

Compensation & Benefits

For USA-based roles, the annual base salary ranges from $165,000 USD to $239,000 USD, and is commission-eligible. This role includes immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k), generous paid time off, an equity grant, and participation in incentive programs where applicable.

For Canada-based roles, the annual base salary ranges from $156,000 CAD to $226,000 CAD, and is commission-eligible. This role includes immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP), generous paid time off, an equity grant, and participation in incentive programs where applicable.

At 1Password, compensation is determined by fair market value and internal equity, commensurate with individual experience and specific skill set.
