The Opportunity: Director, Growth Web Experience

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director, Growth Web Experience to define and lead the future of 1Password’s digital web presence. As 1Password expands beyond password management into a broader trust, identity, and security category powered by AI, the website will serve as the primary platform for showcasing the evolving brand, products, and value proposition.

The web experience is critical to 1Password's growth engine:

  • It fuels the B2C business, reaching millions of consumers through a global self-serve model.
  • It powers B2B self-serve (PLG), driving tens of thousands of new business customers annually.
  • It enables B2B upmarket expansion through tailored, segmented digital journeys for diverse buyer personas across regions and product lines.

This leader will craft a unified, high-performance web strategy that meets the needs of each audience while elevating 1Password’s emerging category leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in digital web strategy, analytics, and product-led growth—and the ability to inspire cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional, data-driven experiences that shape the future of the brand.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What We're Looking For

  • 15+ years leading high-impact digital web experiences in a SaaS or technology environment, with deep experience stewarding large customer-facing properties across B2B and B2C.
  • Proven experience leading global web experiences across multiple languages, regions, and buyer segments, ensuring consistent brand expression while adapting content, messaging, and UX for local markets.
  • Proven leadership experience managing, coaching, and scaling teams, with a track record of developing talent and building healthy, high-performance cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute a web strategy that aligns technical implementation, UX, content, experimentation, and growth objectives for a rapidly evolving business.
  • Strong analytical rigor, converting insights into action and driving continuous performance improvements through testing, user research, and data analysis.
  • Solid technical background, enabling effective partnership with Engineering and the ability to translate UX/experience requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with modern marketing technology, including CMS (e.g., Contentful, Webflow, Vercel, etc), experimentation platforms, analytics tools, and feature flag systems.
  • Exceptional program and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to own large-scale initiatives end-to-end—from requirements through delivery and impact measurement.
  • Experience working within strict privacy/security environments, balancing compliance with creative, customer-centric experiences.

What You Can Expect

Strategy
  • Define and own the long-term vision and strategy for all 1Password web properties as the primary digital engagement, brand expression, and acquisition platform across B2B, B2C, employer brand, and corporate storytelling. Ensure the web experience reflects and reinforces 1Password’s evolving category leadership.
  • Translate business, brand, and category goals into actionable digital strategies, ensuring that stakeholders understand priorities, trade-offs, and expected outcomes as 1Password continues to evolve the category they lead.
  • Own and drive clear performance against goals and KPIs (e.g., session-to-sign-up conversion, trial activation, traffic quality, SEO/Answer-engine rankings, page speed, accessibility scores) and be accountable for achieving them.
Execution & Optimization
  • Drive a data-driven, iterative web experience roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that improve UX, accelerate growth, and maximize ROI while balancing customer needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
  • Lead continuous optimization efforts using experimentation, A/B testing, SEO/SEM insights, behavioral analytics, and performance monitoring tools. Ensure learnings translate into scalable improvements.
  • Establish and enforce operational excellence across workflows, sprint planning, release cadence, documentation, and cross-team intake processes.
  • Embrace AI-enabled development tools and modern web platforms to increase speed of delivery, reduce friction in the build process, and multiply the impact of the team while championing the adoption of new technologies that enable rapid iteration, automation, and improved resource efficiency.
  • Proactively manage compliance & governance of the website with ADA, and all laws, regulations (e.g. GDPR) and 1Password's high standards around privacy and security.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Web Experience team, including web developers, web product managers, UX and SEO/GEO. Set performance expectations and goals, provide continuous feedback, and participate in career development planning and performance reviews.
Leadership
  • Build organizational capability by hiring, onboarding, and developing top talent; identifying gaps; and ensuring the team has the skills and tools needed to excel.
  • Promote cross-functional alignment, partnering closely with Brand, Product Marketing, Product, Sales, and Security teams to ensure web initiatives meet business goals.
  • Serve as the primary stakeholder and subject-matter expert on how the website supports pipeline generation, customer education, brand expression, and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with Marketing Analytics and Finance to drive forecasting, build data-backed business cases, and measure impact of web initiatives.
