The Role: Contracts Manager

We are seeking a Contracts Manager to join our in-house legal team, focusing on supporting the contract management process. Reporting to the Manager, Senior Legal Counsel, you will collaborate closely with the Commercial Legal team, Sales, Finance, and other stakeholders across the organization.

This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the US; however, some travel may be required periodically.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in contract management within a corporate/legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, legal principles, and contract management best practices.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including responsiveness, clear and effective communication, and ability to build strong relationships with internal teams.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in procurement and CLM software, G-Suite, and MS Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new laws, concepts, internal policies, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Written and oral English language fluency.
  • Certification in Contract Management (e.g., CCM, CPCM), or experience in a scaling SaaS company, is a plus.

What You Can Expect

Contract Drafting and Review
  • Draft, review, and revise various contracts, including sales agreements, service contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and vendor agreements.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Identify and actively mitigate contractual risks and potential liabilities.
Contract Negotiation
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with external parties to achieve favorable outcomes while safeguarding company interests.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such such as procurement, sales, and finance teams to resolve contractual issues and reach mutually beneficial agreements.
Contract Management
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance throughout the entire contract lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.
Stakeholder Communication And Collaboration
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding contract-related inquiries and issues.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel, procurement, sales, and other departments to streamline contract processes and enhance overall efficiency.

Compensation & Benefits

USA-based roles offer an annual base salary between $93,000 USD and $130,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k, etc.), generous paid time off, an equity grant, and incentive programs where applicable.

Canada-based roles offer an annual base salary between $86,000 CAD and $120,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP, etc.), generous paid time off, an equity grant, and incentive programs where applicable.

At 1Password, compensation is determined based on fair market value and internal equity, commensurate with experience and specific skill set.
