Account Executive, New England Academic

The Account Executive, New England Academic is a field-based position responsible for the overall success of our Chromium and Visium franchises and driving Xenium consumables utilization within top- and mid-tier academic and government accounts.

This role covers major hospitals including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Beth Israel Hospital. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge in Single Cell and Spatial profiling, enabling effective consultation with customers and influencing key decisions on technology and product choices.

What you will be doing:

  • Strategic Account Planning: Develop and manage territory plans to exceed business goals.
  • Customer Consultation: Leverage technical credibility to advise on technology solutions.
  • Sales Management: Manage the sales process including funnel, forecasting, and pipeline using CRM systems.
  • Customer Relationships: Build trust, understand research needs, and drive consultative selling.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay updated on trends to identify high-value leads.
  • Team Coordination & Collaboration: Align with sales and support for seamless customer experience.
  • Post-Purchase Support: Ensure continued consumables use and seek new research opportunities.
  • Business Planning: Commit to rigorous territory planning and accurate forecasting.
  • Market and Product Knowledge: Stay current on genetic analysis markets and products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6-8 years sales experience in Life Science with a background in capital & consumables sales.
  • Extensive knowledge of single cell and spatial biology tools.
  • Proven ability to build long-term customer relationships and close new business.
  • Strong customer-facing skills and experience navigating academic and grant funding environments.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • LI-JF1 and LI-Remote indicators provided.
