What you need
- 6+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years owning financial, payments, billing, or accounting functionality in a SaaS environment
- A formal accounting foundation: an accounting degree, CPA (active or lapsed), or 3+ years in an accounting, bookkeeping, controllership, or audit role
- Demonstrated command of core accounting concepts, including double-entry mechanics, accrual versus cash basis, bank reconciliation, chart of accounts structure, and budget-versus-actual reporting
- Hands-on experience shipping payment functionality with a processor or gateway across both card and ACH, including refunds, disputes, failed payments, and recurring or installment billing
- Experience with financial workflows built for non-expert, self-serve users, and a track record of making complex financial functionality genuinely usable
- Experience designing or owning reconciliation, audit trail, or financial reporting functionality
Nice to have
- Direct experience with nonprofit, fund, or small-entity accounting, including restricted funds, chapter or affiliate budgets, and tax-exempt filing obligations
- Familiarity with the Form 990 family of filings or comparable tax-exempt compliance requirements
- Experience with bank account connectivity or aggregation services, embedded banking, or treasury and disbursement products
- Experience with card surcharging, convenience fees, interchange economics, or payment cost recovery, including the state-level rules that govern them
- Experience serving volunteer-run or member-driven organizations such as fraternal groups, associations, clubs, faith-based organizations, or youth and community programs
What you get
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance options
- 100% Employer paid short/long term disability
- 100% employer-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance
- 401(k) retirement plan with a 100% company match up to 4%
- Flexible paid personal/vacation time built on mutual trust and accountability
- 10 sick days annually
Worth weighing
- Hybrid work is required, which may not suit all candidates.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, limiting the applicant pool.
- The role requires a strong accounting background, which may be a barrier for those without formal finance education or experience.
- The job involves significant responsibility in ensuring financial correctness, which may lead to high pressure in decision-making.
