What you need

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data center, carrier, or mission-critical telecommunications environments supporting high-availability infrastructure
  • Strong Layer 1 networking and fiber optic experience, including OTDR and optical power meter testing
  • Proven rack-and-stack, hardware installation, and cable management skills
  • Experience with circuit turn-up, validation, preventive maintenance, and production incident response
  • Familiarity with change management, documentation, and SLA-driven operations
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with NOC, engineering, vendors, and cross-functional teams

Nice to have

  • Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Experience with Ciena, Nokia, Infinera, or similar optical transport platforms
  • Prior work in MMR/MDF or carrier hotel environments
  • Experience supporting hyperscale or AI/ML data center infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of power distribution and basic HVAC coordination in critical spaces
