What you need
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in customs compliance, trade compliance, import/export operations, logistics compliance, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with HTS classification, country of origin, valuation, customs brokers, entry documents, and shipping documentation.
- Working knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Familiarity with restricted party screening, customer due diligence, end-use/end-user red flags, and sanctions-related transaction review.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-up, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to manage multiple transactional requests and escalate compliance issues clearly and timely.
Nice to have
- S. Customs Broker License or significant hands-on customs/import compliance experience.
- Aerospace, defense, radar, electronics, hardware manufacturing, or government contracting experience.
- Experience with Dow Jones Risk Center or similar restricted party screening / due diligence tools.
- Experience with Arena, NetSuite, Trello, or similar business systems.
