Job Summary and Qualifications:
As an Occupational Therapist in acute care, you will be instrumental in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life following illness or injury. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to individual patient needs, working collaboratively with physicians and an interdisciplinary team.
Your Role Will Include:
- Evaluating patient functional abilities and needs to develop individualized therapy plans.
- Delivering skilled, evidence-based interventions to promote healing and independence.
- Monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Ensuring thorough and timely documentation of quality outcomes.
- Educating patients and families to foster understanding and engagement in recovery.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners for seamless care transitions.
- Providing guidance to therapy assistants and students.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate evaluation and care for the patient populations served in your department, understanding principles of growth and development across the lifespan and assessing data reflective of age-specific needs.
What You Will Do in This Role:
- Assess and adjust care in coordination with the health care team across the continuum.
- Evaluate patients' and families' ability to learn and incorporate teaching throughout hospitalization and for discharge preparation.
- Deliver compassionate, holistic care while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
Required Qualifications:
- State of Tennessee Occupational Therapist license required.
- Graduate of an accredited OT program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current.
