We are seeking to hire candidates for our Mgr Veh Equip & Rebuilt Unit (2011).

Overall Description
Coordinate the development and administration of material requirements and reporting systems as related to the Capital Programs and Rebuilt Unit Inventory for the Vehicle Engineering and Maintenance Department.
Specific Responsibilities
- Coordinates the development of the annual material requirements and capital performance reporting for V.E.M.
- Prepares annual capital spending forecasts for materials and major project milestones for Rebuilt Unit Inventory.
- Provides periodic information and progress reports for in-house and funding agencies use.
- Responsible to evaluate and compare third-party contractor performance data with in-house performance data.
- Directly supervise hourly employees assigned to material acquisition in V.E.M. back shops.
- Provides management with reports and pricing information that will establish and track efficiency of capital projects, and rebuilt units providing a basis for management decisions.
- Provides administrative services and support to management staff, including unit pricing, material tracking, material budgets, workflow analysis, etc.
- Review Faster, budget and other pertinent reports on a weekly/monthly basis and makes adjustments and corrections as required.
- Coordinates material budget spending for department or program to maintain performance within budget.
- Backs up other Maintenance Managers across the department. Oversees hourly departmental staff while covering for vacancies, absences, etc.
- Participate in the development of policies in V.E.M. back shops pertaining to unit cores, pricing and warranty and interpret such policies throughout the department.
- Perform special assignments for immediate manager, as requested.
- Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years experience involved in procurement of maintenance parts and equipment, resource control, administrative/supervisory and/or analytical responsibilities required.
- In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of experience in administrative/ related field and education (two (2) years of related experience equating to one year of formal post-high school education) may be considered.
- Strong PC skills required. Must be proficient in using MS Office applications.
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain written and computer based records required.
- Proficiency in PC/Spreadsheet applications required.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
