Role Overview
The Marketing Content Specialist is responsible for managing and executing content strategies across various digital platforms to enhance brand visibility and engagement. This role consists of both social media management and content management. The ideal candidate will develop and implement strategic social media plans, create compelling content, and collaborate effectively with team members to drive measurable results. The role operates during standard business hours (9 AM to 5 PM Central Time, Monday to Friday) and requires fluency in written and spoken communication.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Develop and execute strategic social media plans for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.com.
- Create and curate engaging, high-quality content tailored to each platform.
- Schedule and publish posts using Vendasta or similar publishing tools (plus).
- Monitor social media performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize engagement and reach.
- Collaborate with team members to align social media efforts with broader marketing goals.
- Claiming and managing access of client social media accounts.
Content Management
- Manage and update website content using CMS platforms like WordPress and Squarespace.
- Create and edit content that aligns with brand voice and guidelines.
- Ensure consistent messaging across email campaigns, social posts, and website updates.
- Monitor and maintain content calendars to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Analyze content performance and generate actionable reports using Google Sheets.
AI-Assisted Design Workflow
- Actively explore and integrate AI tools into your design workflow for ideation, image generation, and production speed.
- Bring new AI tool discoveries to the team — we want someone who is leading this, not waiting on it.
- Use AI as creative leverage, not a replacement for craft — judgment and quality always win.
- Stay current on how AI is evolving within the design space and bring useful updates to the team.
Other Duties
- Participate in email-based and Google Meet team discussions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and tools to enhance content strategies.
- Support digital advertising campaigns (including Meta Ads Manager, if applicable).
Qualifications
- 3-4 years of proven experience in social media management and content creation.
- Proficiency in CMS platforms such as WordPress and Squarespace (Vendasta experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager and other advertising platforms (preferred but not required).
- Strong analytical skills with experience reporting via Google Sheets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Meet, etc.).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual environment.
