Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, intellectually curious individual to lead data acquisition, management, and insight efforts across Shockwave portfolio strategy initiatives. This role is designed as an analytical entry point for someone eager to work at the intersection of market data, voice‑of‑expert (VOE) insights, portfolio strategy, and emerging AI‑enabled tools.
The ideal candidate is a data “enthusiast” who enjoys working with large, imperfect data sets, spotting patterns, building frameworks, and translating insights into concise, actionable outputs. The role will focus on structuring, synthesizing, and activating diverse data inputs—including market data, sales analytics, VOE, market research, and internal systems—to enable data driven portfolio decision‑making.
Responsibilities
Market & Sales Data Analysis
- Aggregate, clean, and analyze market, sales, and utilization data
- Build repeatable analytical frameworks and dashboards to support portfolio reviews, strategic planning, and leadership discussions.
- Partner with commercial operations and analytics groups to ensure alignment and effective use of available data sources.
- Assist in building business case assessments for new indications or portfolio expansion opportunities, including market size, adoption dynamics, and strategic rationale.
Voice of Expert (VOE) Synthesis
- Support end‑to‑end VOE processes, including framework development, data aggregation, synthesis, and trend identification.
- Help translate qualitative expert input into structured insights that inform portfolio priorities and development decisions.
- Support planning around major medical conferences and forums, including pre‑work synthesis and post‑meeting insight capture.
Enterprise Data Management
- Help improve how the team, integrates, and utilizes data across multiple internal systems and external sources.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to enhance data usability and accessibility for portfolio team.
AI Integration & Enablement
- Explore how AI‑enabled tools and analytics can be leveraged to improve VOE capture, insight synthesis, and portfolio decision‑making.
- Actively contribute ideas on where and how AI should be deployed across portfolio strategy workflows.
- Help pilot new analytical approaches and tools as capabilities evolve.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field required or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in analytics, strategy, consulting, market research, commercial analytics, or related analytical role.
- Strong analytical skills with experience working with complex data sets and synthesizing insights.
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into clear, concise, actionable insights for cross‑functional stakeholders.
- High intellectual curiosity with strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort presenting insights to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Ideal candidate will be local to Santa Clara office; Remote candidates will be considered with expectation of quarterly travel to Santa Clara office.
- Must be able to travel up to 30% (Global & U.S.).
