About the role
Job Title: Product Compliance Engineer
Job Requirements
As a Product Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for studying the Transactional Compliance Plan for every project and documenting the list of applicable Regulations and Standards. You will prepare compliance documents for specific projects, including a list of impacted items from the TRS Matrix. A key part of your role will involve working with suppliers to ensure that their manufactured parts and assemblies meet the project's compliance requirements. You will also be responsible for collecting and compiling necessary documents and certificates for the project and uploading them to the central repository.
You will collaborate with the Design team on a regular basis to initiate improvement actions and adopt best practices from other business units. Scheduling meetings with other teams will be crucial to ensure compliance is met.
Work Experience
- BE/ME in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 5-12 years of experience in product compliance with various product regulatory or certification agencies.
- Knowledge of international certifications such as IEC, IECEx, and country-specific regulatory certifications like CSA, UL, TUV, Intertek, CE marking.
- Basic knowledge of EU directives for CE marking.
- Basic design knowledge in power equipment such as Steam Turbines, Generators, and their accessories.
- Basic knowledge of Low Voltage Directive, EMI/EMC, Machinery Safety Directives (MD), and Pressure Equipment Directives (PED).
- Knowledge of energy efficiency requirements for various products and corresponding labeling & standard requirements globally.
- Experience performing Hazardous Area Map calculations for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and Generator Accessories.
- Basic knowledge in understanding engineering documents and drawings.
- Overall knowledge of sectors including Product Safety, Energy Efficiency, and material requirements like REACH, RoHS, and WEEE directives.
- Proficiency in MS Office within a Windows environment.
