Role Overview
We are seeking a talented Specialist, Technology Delivery to oversee the successful execution of product and project deliverables for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of leadership, accountability, product development, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills. In addition to delivery execution, this role is responsible for coaching Agile teams toward higher levels of effectiveness, fostering psychologically safe team environments, and driving continuous improvement through data-informed decision making. The Specialist, Technology Delivery will lead a development team and collaborate closely with other teams to ensure delivery of products on time and within budget and scope. This role plays a critical part in representing and advocating for the Agile team at the program level, balancing stakeholder needs with team sustainability and delivery health. This role is vital to fostering strong relationships, driving positive change, and enabling teams to deliver high-quality, customer-centric outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
- Deeply understand the context of capabilities and epics (created by Product Management) in order to effectively break down, create, and refine user stories with development team members, including clearly articulating functional and non-functional requirements and user story acceptance criteria.
- Support teams in facilitating Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
- Coach Agile teams beyond ceremony facilitation by improving team maturity, enabling self-management, and guiding teams toward ownership of outcomes.
- Lead and oversee the successful delivery of products, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet defined quality standards and requirements.
- Lead and inspire project teams, fostering a collaborative, results-driven culture.
- Promote effective and transparent communication across teams and stakeholders.
- Cultivate a psychologically safe team environment where all voices are heard and healthy conflict is managed constructively.
- Maintain a strong pulse on team health, morale, and engagement, proactively addressing challenges that impact performance.

- Effectively communicate work in progress, outcomes, and delivery status to stakeholders, accommodating and negotiating needs while maintaining alignment with organizational priorities.
- Act as the primary advocate for the Agile team, representing team needs, constraints, and trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership.
- Protect team focus by managing external demands and minimizing unnecessary disruptions.
- Identify and manage dependencies collaboratively across teams.
- Proactively coordinate with internal and external teams to optimize end-to-end delivery flow.
- Ensure alignment between team-level execution and broader program objectives.
- Rapidly identify, communicate, and escalate risks and impediments with appropriate urgency.
- Continuously assess risks by evaluating probability, impact, and dependencies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute effective risk mitigation strategies through to resolution.
- Track and socialize team performance goals and metrics, including velocity and capacity.
- Analyze delivery metrics such as flow efficiency, cycle time, and throughput to identify systemic issues.
- Use data to inform planning, forecasting, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Facilitate the creation, maintenance, and accountability of team ways of working.
- Maintain proper tool hygiene for team artifacts, including user stories, backlogs, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Continuously improve team and departmental delivery practices.
- Develop a strong understanding of the team's technical work and systems to effectively guide delivery decisions and facilitate meaningful discussions.
- Act as a translator between technical and non-technical stakeholders when necessary.
- Contribute to the Delivery Management community of practice by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and promoting cross-team alignment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or 3 to 5 years of relevant experience (e.g., delivery manager, scrum master, project manager, product owner) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience collaborating with or managing fully remote teams.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Experience leading teams without formal authority and fostering accountability.
- Strong customer-centric mindset with the ability to clearly communicate requirements and scope.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary range is between $90,000 - $110,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.
