Principal Software Engineer System Infrastructure
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Systems Infrastructure Engineering (SIE) team. This role is based out of the Autonomous Design Center of Excellence (CoE) in San Diego, California. Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers, providing daily tasking aligned with current priorities.
- Maintain an established Agile development workflow.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux (RHEL / CENTOS) 6/7/8 servers and workstations.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server 2008 / 2016, and Windows 7 / 10 systems.
- Administer and troubleshoot VMWare vSphere systems (VCSA and ESXi).
- Automate system maintenance tasks using scripting tools like PowerShell, Python, and Ansible.
- Enforce cybersecurity compliance using security frameworks and remediation tools (SCC SCAP scanner, STIG Viewer, Nessus).
- Maintain proper configuration management with engineering document lifecycle tools (Team Center Enterprise).
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 5 years of experience, OR a Master’s Degree in STEM with at least 3 years of experience, OR a PhD in STEM with at least 0 years of experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6/7/8 servers and workstations.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and administering Windows-based servers and workstations.
- Must meet DoD IAT requirements for security certification for classified systems administrators (e.g., Security+, CISSP) or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Must hold an active Secret (or higher) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VMWare infrastructure.
- Experience with Ansible.
- Relevant certifications from VMWare, Windows (MCSE), and/or RedHat with Satellite Administration.
- Possession of a US Passport and ability to travel overseas frequently.
