We are seeking a Senior BI Analyst who will be a key technical leader in the data science team, responsible for creating and maintaining the views, reports, and analytics. This role has high visibility that will reach all levels of the organization. This role will build portfolio visibility across policy, premium, exposure/payroll, and claims data in Power BI with our data warehouse in Snowflake. The senior analyst will design trusted semantic models, publish enterprise apps, and enable self‑service for stakeholders, aligned to our data governance standards. Insurance/policy‑management experience is a must; Workers’ Compensation is a strong plus.Position Responsibilities
- Own Workers’ Compensation business intelligence: work with data engineering to integrate and model WC data in Snowflake; build certified datasets, governed semantic models, and Power BI dashboards that provide actionable insights for Workers’ Compensation.
- Support WC program reporting across policy lifecycle, operational throughput (UW queues and productivity), and portfolio outcomes (frequency/severity, loss ratios). Align metric definitions with business glossary and work with business stakeholders to ensure accuracy.
- Drive advanced analytics: apply data mining techniques to policy, claims, and exposure data to support predictive modeling and trend analysis.
- Enable self-service analytics by coaching stakeholders and managing workspace standards.
- Collaborate with senior management to align BI solutions with strategic objectives and influence data strategy decisions.
- Champion data governance and metric consistency, ensuring clear definitions and compliance with enterprise standards.
- Mentor and develop junior BI analysts, fostering best practices in data modeling, visualization, and governance.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible BI and data analysis experience; operates highly independently at the senior level.
- Experience using AI tools to increase productivity
- P& C Insurance domain experience required; Workers’ Compensation preferred
- Expert-level skills in SQL, Power BI, and advanced analytics tools
- Advanced programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
- Excellent stakeholder collaboration with Product/Underwriting/PMO; able to translate business needs into trusted BI assets
- Proven track record of delivering high-impact business insights
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- Advanced degree preferred (Master's in Data Science, Statistics, or related field)
