Branch Sales Manager - Insulation Distributors Inc.
Job Summary:
The Branch Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing both the Arlington (Seattle North) and Kent (Seattle South) branches, with a preference for the candidate to be based out of the Kent location. This role focuses on identifying prospective customers, building and maintaining strong business relationships, and driving sales and profitability. A key aspect of this position is developing and training a team that aligns with IDI’s culture and Core Values, ensuring efficient and effective branch operations.
Compensation: $86,000 - $120,000 + commission
Location: Arlington & Kent, WA (preference for Kent-based)
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Sales Growth and Customer Retention: Drive profitable growth for IDI sales, focusing on both revenue and profit margins. Retain existing customers and acquire new ones, ensuring high levels of customer service and profitability.
- Branch Oversight and Employee Management: Manage branch operations including safety, inventory, turnover, and employee retention. Develop and mentor branch personnel (Sales, DC Manager, Drivers, operations staff) to foster long-term retention and a strong customer service culture.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and corporate directives. Implement training programs for safety, customer service, and product knowledge.
- Financial Management: Conduct annual sales forecasting and budgeting, and perform monthly P&L reviews with the Regional Director.
- Training and Supervision: Oversee staff training and provide direct supervision to the DC Manager and Sales Representatives.
- Inventory Management: Manage branch inventory, including turn rates, counts (weekly, monthly, annual), and minimize dead inventory.
- Corporate Liaison: Act as the primary contact between the branch and the corporate office, ensuring all corporate directives are implemented.
- Branch Presence and Additional Duties: Maintain an active role in the overall health and strength of the branch office. Perform other duties as required to benefit IDI.

Qualifications/Skills:
- Sales and Business Development: Proven success in selling building materials, with the ability to develop new business and achieve sales goals.
- Relationship Building: Skilled in establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors, customers, and sales staff.
- Planning and Organizational Skills: Strong capabilities in planning, time management, and organization. Experience in strategic planning, sales management, negotiation, and vendor management.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous and focused on achieving individual and team objectives.
- Travel: Willingness to travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in insulation or building materials.
