Your Impact as a Contract Specialist
The Contract Specialist is responsible for contributing to the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting to execution, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of obligations. The role implements contract management policies, ensuring compliance with company standards and legal requirements, and analyzes contract terms to identify risks and proposes mitigation strategies. The role develops and maintains standardized contract templates, conducts detailed reviews, and collaborates with various departments for effective contract management. The role monitors contract fulfillment, tracks key milestones, and prepares reports on status and performance for senior management. The role ensures operational effectiveness and works meticulously under direct supervision to maintain high standards. This role does not require contract negotiation. The Contract Specialist will work closely under the guidance of the lead contract manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting and execution, ensuring all contractual obligations are met accurately and timely, supporting efficient contract management processes.
- Implements contract management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards and legal requirements to minimize risks, promoting regulatory adherence and operational integrity.
- Analyzes and interprets contract terms and conditions, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies to protect the company's interests, enhancing proactive risk management practices.
- Develops and maintains standardized contract templates and documentation, ensuring consistency and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, facilitating streamlined contract creation and management.
- Conducts detailed contract reviews and risk assessments, identifying potential issues and recommending solutions to mitigate contractual risks, ensuring robust contract scrutiny and risk mitigation.
- Collaborates with cross-functional departments to ensure contracts are managed effectively and meet the company's strategic goals, fostering cross-functional alignment and cooperation.
- Monitors the fulfillment of contract obligations, tracking key milestones and deliverables to ensure all parties meet their responsibilities, ensuring contract performance and accountability.
- Prepares and presents comprehensive reports on contract status, performance metrics, and risk assessments to senior management for informed decision-making, supporting strategic planning and governance.
- Stays updated on industry trends, changes in legislation, and best practices in contract management, continuously enhancing the department’s operational effectiveness and adaptability.
- Develops stable working relationships internally, actively exchanging standard information with colleagues, immediate supervisors, project leaders, and other professionals within the team or group to foster collaboration and support collective goals.
- Works meticulously under direct supervision and established processes, ensuring adherence to operational policies to maintain consistency and high standards of work output.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, Vocational Education/ Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Law or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in Contract Management or equivalent with Vocational Education OR no prior experience with Bachelor’s Degree.

The pay range for this position is $26.69 to $28.00 annually. At Heartstream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
