Project Engineer - Highway/Traffic
French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer for our Highway/Traffic department in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee roadway and highway design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Perform geometric design, grading, drainage coordination, and maintenance of traffic plans.
- Coordinate with internal disciplines including civil/site, traffic, structural, environmental, and utility teams.
- Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers and designers.
- Attend client meetings and coordinate with public agencies including state agencies, counties, and municipalities.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal design standards and procedures.
- Support proposal preparation and business development efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 4-8 years of progressive highway/roadway design experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts.
- Experience working on county and/or municipal projects, including those that are state or federally funded.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO and MassDOT roadway design standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation
The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education and skill set.
