Eaton's North American Sales division is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join their team in Chandler, AZ. This role is focused on electrical distribution within the commercial construction market. Join Our Team: Making a Difference at Eaton The primary function of the Sales Engineer is to sell assigned product lines to targeted customers in targeted market areas. This position is responsible for achieving assigned sales goals consistent with the expectations of a seasoned professional sales engineer for the assigned product categories, operating with minimal supervision. It is expected that you will optimize sales volume, product mix, and profit margin while increasing sales in the marketplace. This position requires coordinating sales for the assigned customer and distributor base. You will manage all aspects of the customer relationship, providing sales and technical assistance to distributors, customers, end users, and specifiers. Key Responsibilities:- Providing sales and technical assistance to distributors, contractors, end users, and Electrical Group personnel.
- Supplying timely and accurate information for order entry, escalating quality issues to management, and ensuring accurate market intelligence on competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits.
- Supporting distributor inventories and inventory turns by recommending specific products and stocking levels.
- Providing necessary reports and surveys requested in a timely manner.
- Build relationships with key customers and channel partners to enhance long-term business prospects.
- Execute sales plans to meet performance expectations and requirements.
- Review and interpret customer needs on plans and specifications.
- Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines, exercising sound business judgment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product lines, operations, and other internal stakeholders to deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Stay informed about market conditions and competitive activities, communicating this information to product divisions.
- Assist teammates in training the Channel on Eaton Products and Electronic Tools.
- Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits to drive data-based decisions.
- Provide accurate and timely planning and specification interpretation, quotation, and technical support.
- Plan promotional events and presentations with distributor personnel to enhance Eaton’s market position, developing a proven record of achieving assigned sales goals.
