(BGS) is seeking qualified candidates for a licensed Master Electrician (Network Cabling Lead) position to lead network cabling projects in office buildings, including sensitive government and classified facilities. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise teams of electricians in cable installation within standard and sensitive environments (e.g., SCIFs, data centers, secure spaces).
- Plan and oversee structured cabling layouts for new and existing office spaces, including copper (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a) and fiber optic cabling.
- Ensure compliance with red/black separation requirements for classified and unclassified systems.
- Verify all cabling terminations, labeling, and testing meet TIA/EIA, NEC, and project specifications.
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to identify cable routes and termination points.
- Perform and oversee copper and fiber terminations, including patch panels, keystone jacks, connectors, and fiber trays.
- Conduct quality assurance inspections and certify test results for installed cabling.
- Ensure adherence to state/local codes, safety regulations, company standards, and federal security guidelines.
- Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and technical guidance to electricians.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, IT/security staff, and government representatives to align cable installation with project timelines.
Requirements
- Active Master Electrician license.
- Minimum 7–10 years of electrical experience, with at least 3 years focused on structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
- Demonstrated experience working in sensitive facilities (SCIFs, secure government buildings, or defense-related projects).
- Strong knowledge of NEC, TIA/EIA standards, and government/DoD red/black separation practices.
- Proven experience leading electrical crews on commercial/office projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with cable testing tools (e.g., Fluke) and certification processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
