About the Role
Aon is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Consultant to join their Transaction Strategy (TS) practice within the Talent Practice. In this role, you will lead project teams, develop human capital solutions for business transformations like M&A and IPOs, and serve as a primary advisor to clients. You will also mentor junior colleagues and collaborate with leadership to foster client relationships and grow the TS business. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in human capital domains and a strong understanding of the deal lifecycle, thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Your Impact
As a Senior Consultant, Transaction Strategy, you will:
- Apply advanced knowledge of human capital, rewards, and HR programs in transaction contexts.
- Translate business strategy and deal objectives into integrated human capital solutions.
- Lead client engagements or major workstreams on complex, multi-disciplinary programs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client HR and business leaders, while mentoring junior staff.
- Contribute to team growth, proposal development, and thought leadership.
What the Day Will Look Like
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading key workstreams or serving as engagement manager on client consulting projects related to M&A, joint ventures, carve-outs, IPOs, and enterprise-wide restructurings.
- Acting as the primary day-to-day contact for client project leads, managing expectations and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Overseeing HR due diligence activities, including designing and implementing workplans, directing junior staff in data room reviews and analysis, and synthesizing findings into executive-ready reports.
- Leading the development of integrated project plans, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and within-scope delivery.
- Providing both qualitative and quantitative advice, assessing HR programs and rewards, and developing financial and people-related models.
- Facilitating client meetings and workshops, presenting findings and recommendations.
- Partnering with Directors and Partners to identify client needs and shape project opportunities.

- Ability to gain trust and credibility with senior client partners and internal leaders.
- Strong problem-structuring, critical thinking, and recommendation development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering executive-level presentations.

Education

- Professional certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, WorldatWork, CEBS, PMP) are desired.
- Demonstrated experience in compensation and benefits design, HR M&A, and/or organization transformation work.

Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position in the U.S. is $130,000 - $160,000 annually, with actual salary based on experience, skills, and location. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
