About this role
As a Maintenance Specialist at McMaster-Carr, you will support the distribution center and office facilities by maintaining and improving various mechanical, electrical, and automated systems. What you need
- 5+ years of maintenance experience
- Advanced proficiency with PLCs and HMIs, including programming and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Experience with hand tools and diagnosis of gear and belt drive systems
- Ability to read electrical prints and use a multi-meter to troubleshoot electrical issues
- Experience diagnosing Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Nice to have
- Experience with highly automated packaging, sortation, or carton closeout machines
- Mechanical skills - welding, machining, fabrication, operating a Lathe, Bridgeport, MIG and/or TIG welder, or Sheet Metal Brake
- Electrical skills – Arc Flash protocols, programming VFDs
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Basic vehicle maintenance and support
