Portfolio Lead Credit Cards
Location: Mumbai
Reports To: Portfolio Head – Credit Cards
Department: Credit Cards
Role Purpose
Own organic growth and profitability for the credit cards portfolio by driving spends, interchange revenue, revolve book performance, and utilization through smart cohorting, network partnerships (Visa/Mastercard/RuPay), and cost-efficient campaigns. Ensure robust risk, compliance, and regulatory alignment while building scalable tech capabilities for precision outreach.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Growth & Revenue Optimization
- Increase portfolio spends and utilization across product lines and customer segments.
- Optimize high-interchange MCCs (e.g., travel, fuel, online services, utilities where relevant) to maximize net interchange yield.
- Build and manage a profitable revolve book (APR yield, delinquency guardrails, vintage performance monitoring).
- Drive limit management (enhancements/reductions) using behavioral and risk triggers.
Tech & Cohort-Based Campaigning
- Build campaign tech capabilities to segment the right cohorts, including: Behavioral cohorts (recency, frequency, monetary value, dormant/declining spenders), Product usage cohorts, Risk cohorts (score bands, delinquency risk, over-limit behavior, complaint flags), Lifecycle cohorts (new-to-card activation, 30/60/90 day nudges, renewals, reactivation).
- Set up campaign orchestration pipelines across email/SMS/push/in-app, and site/app personalization.
- Define campaign experimentation framework (A/B/n tests, holdout groups, incrementality, attribution models).
- Establish audience governance (opt-ins, exclusions, fatigue rules, contact policy, consent management).
Network Offers & Alliances
- Manage network offers (Visa/Mastercard/RuPay) and merchant alliances to drive targeted MCC utilization.
- Negotiate and launch co-funded and free offers, optimize offer economics, and ensure compliance with scheme rules.
- Align offers with seasonality, category peaks, and portfolio gaps (e.g., travel quarter, festive spikes).
Cost Efficiency & Campaign ROI
- Optimize campaign costs (media, martech, partner funding) and maintain an optimal cost-to-spends ratio.
- Implement ROI dashboards for campaign-level CAC, incremental spends, interchange uplift, and offer redemption quality.
- Continuously refine targeting, creatives, and offers based on incrementality.
Compliance, Regulatory & Audit
- Manage re-KYC operations in collaboration with ops/compliance; minimize attrition and suspensions.
- Ensure accurate regulatory reporting (spends, card counts, product variants, complaints, SLAs) and internal audit readiness.
- Maintain data privacy controls, consent tracking, and contact governance.
Analytics & Reporting
- Build portfolio dashboards for spends, utilization, MCC mix, interchange yield, revolve metrics, credit losses, and limits.
- Weekly/Monthly reporting to leadership: spends growth, MCC share, campaign performance, cost-to-spends, revolve yield.
- Run vintage analysis, cohort health checks, EMI penetration, cross-sell/upsell performance.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s in Business/Finance/Marketing/Data/Engineering.
- 6–10 years in credit cards portfolio management roles.
- Deep understanding of interchange economics, MCC strategy, revolve dynamics, limit management, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong hands-on experience with campaign analytics, segmentation, and BI dashboards.
