Your New Role...
We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead the development of next-generation user experiences across Bleacher Report’s digital platforms. This is a senior, high-impact individual contributor role responsible for shaping and executing the vision for how fans discover, explore, and engage with sports content—through smarter navigation, personalized journeys, world-class search, and AI-powered discovery. This is not a back-end platform role. It’s about reimagining the fan experience from the ground up. You’ll play a defining role in shaping Bleacher Report’s identity as the most fan-centric sports platform in the world, ensuring our innovations serve the passion, loyalty, and expectations of modern sports fans.
The ideal candidate combines strong product strategy skills, deep expertise in UX, search, and personalization, and an authentic love for sports. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, design, content, data science, programming, editorial, and business teams to build experiences that are fast, intuitive, and distinctly Bleacher Report.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Define and champion a bold, fan-centered product vision for how next-generation UX, seamless customer journeys, and intelligent content discovery will set Bleacher Report apart as the definitive sports destination.
- Own the end-to-end product roadmap for navigation, search, and content discovery—delivering features that help fans find what they love faster, follow their teams deeper, and never miss a moment.
- Redesign and optimize fan customer journeys from first launch through long-term loyalty—spanning onboarding, team/player following, personalized feeds, push engagement, and re-activation.
- Lead a step-change improvement in search experience—including real-time sports query understanding, entity recognition (teams, players, games, scores), and contextually ranked results that serve fans in the moment.
- Define and execute a content discovery strategy powered by AI/ML—including algorithmic feeds, trending content surfaces, related content modules, and cross-sport exploration pathways.
- Partner with design to raise the bar on navigation architecture and information hierarchy, ensuring every surface—home, team pages, live coverage, and video—is intuitive and conversion-optimized.
- Collaborate across functions as a connective force between editorial, engineering, design, data science, growth, and business development teams.
- Translate fan research, behavioral data, and technical possibilities into crisp, actionable product requirements that balance innovation, feasibility, and measurable fan value.
- Define success metrics and experimentation frameworks—driving a rigorous test-and-learn culture across engagement, retention, session depth, and discovery effectiveness.
- Serve as a thought leader on responsible personalization—ensuring algorithmic systems respect fan trust, avoid filter bubbles, and uphold editorial integrity.
Qualifications & Experience...
- 10+ years in product management with a track record of shipping high-impact, consumer-facing digital products at scale.
- Demonstrated impact in UX/navigation strategy, search product management, content discovery/recommendation systems, and personalized customer journey design.
- Hands-on experience with search, AI Assistants, and/or ML-driven recommendation systems; ability to go deep with engineering and data science partners.
- Strong fluency in AI/ML fundamentals—including LLMs, embedding models, ranking systems, and experimentation frameworks—applied to consumer product experiences.
- Proven ability to lead through influence in cross-functional environments with competing priorities and stakeholder perspectives.
- Exceptional communication skills: able to translate fan insights, data findings, and technical concepts into compelling narratives for executives, partners, and product teams.
- Deep empathy for sports fans—you understand the emotional intensity of fandom and can translate that passion into product decisions that drive real loyalty.
- Experience with mobile-first, high-velocity media or entertainment products; background in sports, gaming, or fan-centric platforms is a strong plus.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to move fast—balancing long-term strategic vision with hands-on execution in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
