Physical Therapist Oncology
UT MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide direct professional physical therapy services to oncology patients in an inpatient setting. Cancer and its treatments can significantly impact daily functioning, affecting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. Our Department of Rehabilitation Services comprises over 100 oncology rehabilitation professionals committed to enhancing the physical abilities and quality of life for individuals affected by cancer. We offer comprehensive physical and occupational therapy services for patients of all ages and cancer types experiencing challenges related to cancer or its treatment side effects, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.
About the Role
As a Physical Therapist at MD Anderson, you will conduct patient consultations, evaluations, program planning, and treatment to restore function, relieve pain, promote healing, prevent disability, and facilitate adaptation to permanent disability. You will also review patient referrals and medical records, contribute to performance improvement and quality management tasks, participate in patient and student education, and assist in the orientation of new employees and volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient consultation, evaluation, program planning, and treatment.
- Restore function, relieve pain, promote healing, and prevent disability.
- Facilitate adaptation to permanent disability.
- Review patient referrals and medical records.
- Contribute to performance improvement and quality management tasks.
- Participate in patient and student education.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy.
- Current license to practice physical therapy in the state of Texas issued by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (CPR).
- Availability to work Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, including a 1-hour lunch.
- One weekend day required per month, with a flex day during the week leading up to that weekend.
Work Schedule and Benefits
This is a part-time position, 30 hours per week, 4 days a week.
