We're Switch and Click, a YouTube channel reaching millions of viewers every month, creating videos about tech obsessions like keyboards, Linux, setups, handheld gaming, and more. We're a small, fast-growing team looking for a writer excited about tech and sharing it with the world.

What This Role Entails

This is not a traditional writing job. You will delve deep into topics, test products and ideas, figure things out independently, and transform these experiences into compelling video stories. You will own each video from conception to completion.

How We Operate

We are a small team without corporate structures or micromanagement. Success in this role requires initiative, comfort with ambiguity, proactive communication, and strong time management skills. This role may not be suitable if you prefer clearly defined tasks, require constant direction, or avoid addressing problems.

Performance Expectations

• Produce one long-form script per week (15–20 minutes).
• Incorporate feedback quickly and show consistent improvement over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, test, and explore various tech topics.
• Transform complex ideas into clear, engaging YouTube scripts.
• Generate content ideas that resonate with our audience.
• Collaborate with editors to finalize video production.
• Provide feedback on edits, pacing, and storytelling.
• Assist with planning visuals and shot lists as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Genuine interest in technology is paramount.
• A natural curiosity and enjoyment of problem-solving.
• Ability to explain complex subjects simply.
• Writing or creative experience (formal or informal).
• Openness to receiving and applying constructive feedback.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Experience writing YouTube scripts.
• Content creation experience on any platform.
• Familiarity with tech topics such as Linux, setups, networking, etc.
