About the Role
The CSBB Deposits team at Truist is responsible for a significant portfolio of deposit and debit products, driving strategy, design, development, launch, execution, and ongoing management to achieve financial and client objectives. This role involves close collaboration with various internal departments such as Corporate Treasury, Marketing, Sales, Service Channels, Operations, and Technology, as well as Legal, Risk, and Compliance partners. The team plays a crucial role in generating substantial revenue for Truist through net interest income and fee revenue.
Responsibilities of the Deposit Product Manager III
The Deposit Product Manager III is tasked with designing and executing the strategy and performance of assigned deposit or debit products. This includes leveraging benchmarking, innovation, and economic analysis. The role carries full ownership and decision-making authority for the assigned products or programs. Key responsibilities involve project management, in-depth analytics, presenting findings, supporting and leading strategic initiatives, and shaping business/system requirements. This highly cross-functional role requires advocating for the product strategy and roadmap, ensuring key performance objectives are met, and identifying market innovations and new opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the financial performance, product design, development, distribution, and pricing of a set of deposit or debit products.
- Mentor and informally coach other product managers and analysts.
- Determine and monitor financial targets for sales, balance growth, client acquisition and retention, net interest income, fee revenue, and overall revenue.
- Optimize product performance by adjusting pricing, rates, fees, and waiver policies.
- Identify and execute improvement opportunities, understanding and reacting to economic impacts.
- Serve as a Deposits Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects supporting profitable growth, operational soundness, or regulatory compliance.
- Create and execute a strategic roadmap for product launches and enhancements.
- Design, build, and launch new products and enhancements to meet client needs and improve competitive position, profitability, and risk profile; retire outdated products.
- Partner with the Marketing team to design and execute campaigns across various distribution channels to drive client acquisition, deepening, and retention.
- Monitor client and teammate experience through surveys, complaint reviews, and feedback, identifying process improvements.
- Collaborate with Channel Leaders, Complaints partners, and Enablement teams to resolve client issues and develop training materials.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key functional leaders (Marketing, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Distribution, Servicing, Operations, Analytics, Technology).
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams to optimize products, client experience, and financial return in alignment with corporate strategies.
- Ensure compliance with consumer and small business banking and debit card payment solution regulations.
- Maintain a deep understanding of client needs through analytics, industry research, news, market research, focus groups, and teammate feedback.
- Align product strategy with emerging client needs and monitor industry trends and competitive intelligence to position products effectively against competitors.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related major or equivalent education and training.
- 10+ years of work experience in Banking or Financial Services.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, analytics, or marketing.
- Outstanding influencing, partnership-building, and collaboration skills.
- Exceptional analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to generate actionable insights.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven success working within and leading cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey conclusions to senior leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and make decisions on focus areas.
