Manager, Strategic Sales Engineering
Spectrum Business is seeking a Manager of Sales Engineering, National Accounts to lead a team supporting technical pre-sale and post-sale activities. This role involves mentoring teams to create cost-effective solutions combining data, voice, cloud, and video services for major brands. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to present the benefits of Spectrum Business products.
- Develop and deliver engaging technical sales proposals and presentations.
- Manage a 10-week paid sales training program, a Brandon Hall Group gold award winner.
- Provide direction, vision, budgeting, forecasting, staff evaluations, and reporting for Sales Engineering activities.
- Recruit, hire, and train new team members through a hands-on development program.
- Evaluate and monitor engineering team performance, assigning projects accordingly.
- Conduct internal training sessions and technical product reviews.
- Act as a liaison with internal departments to resolve pre- and post-sale issues.
- Manage the requirement-gathering process and conduct face-to-face client consultations.
What You Bring to Spectrum Business
Required Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in a Sales Engineering leadership role.
- Eight or more years of sales engineering experience in a telecommunications environment.
- Experience selling VPN, VoIP, and WAN fiber-based services.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with corporate data security methods.
- Expertise in Metro Ethernet technologies (VPLS, EPL, EVPL, and ELAN), LAN, WAN, network management, and dynamic routing protocols (BGP, RIP, OSFP).
- Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong presentation, proposal design, and English communication skills.
- Deadline-driven with the ability to multitask and manage change.
- Availability to travel to assigned territories and company facilities.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNP, CCIP, or CCIE certification.
- Vendor or sales experience.
- Experience with new cloud hyper-scalers.
