Silvi Materials is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead internal construction and capital improvement projects across its mining, ready-mix, and import facilities. Responsibilities
The Construction Project Manager will oversee and direct construction projects, including site construction, building, and industrial facility construction, from conception to completion. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with internal staff and ownership to define project specifications, scope, and budgets.
- Working with external engineers and architects to develop project plans.
- Coordinating bid and scope reviews with workers and subcontractors.
- Negotiating contracts with external vendors to achieve profitable agreements and manage risk.
- Obtaining necessary permits and licenses.
- Determining required resources (manpower, equipment, materials) while adhering to budgetary limitations.
- Coordinating and directing construction workers and subcontractors.
- Planning all construction operations to meet deadlines and budgets through scheduling and critical path analysis.
- Acquiring equipment and materials and monitoring stock levels.
- Evaluating daily progress and preparing detailed project status reports.
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety standards and collaborating with the Safety Director to address any issues.
Qualifications
- Industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Undergraduate degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction processes on large, multi-phase projects.
- Ability to create complex budgets and project status reports.
- Proficiency in reading shop drawings and blueprints.
- Understanding of standard construction contracts and negotiation skills.
- Good communication, writing, and computer skills.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
