Project Engineer - Groundwater Treatment & Dewatering

RK Industries is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful, safe, and timely delivery of groundwater treatment and dewatering projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to resolve technical challenges, keeping projects aligned with schedule and budget. Position Summary

Perform operations and administration functions critical to the successful completion of service work and projects. Responsibilities include supporting project financial management, water treatment processes, permit compliance, generating and tracking administrative documentation, internal and external communications, and contributing to a high-performing team.

Role Responsibilities

• Collaborate with assigned Project Manager or Senior Project Manager.
• Assist with and/or perform delegated responsibilities and tasks.
• Manage contractual agreements and purchase orders with owners, contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers.
• Understand and comply with all safety processes and procedures.
• Learn and become proficient in Viewpoint/Vista project management software.
• Participate in water treatment and testing processes and procedures.
• Review and analyze water test results.
• Update RK Water compliance logs weekly and monthly.
• Participate in Monthly DMR reporting as needed.
• Inform customers and permit holders of test results and compliance status.
• Ensure daily project documentation (timecards, daily reports, authorizations, receiving documents, as-built drawings) is completed and up to date.
• Coordinate timely job procurement and material/equipment buy-out with the superintendent and purchasing department.
• Develop order pricing as necessary.
• Negotiate and issue lower-tier subcontract(s), ensuring complete scopes within budget and contract documents.
• Process shop drawings, submittals, O&M manuals, and record as-built drawings.
• Review and monitor labor costs, hours, and projections with the project team.
• Oversee and verify monthly project billings and maintain an overbilled project status.
• Ensure timely and proper processing of change order requests and provide necessary information to the project team.
• Coordinate and track material take-offs, pricing, procurement, and release.
• Assist with project projections for estimated costs.
• Ensure efficient job closeout and keep the project team informed of the status.
• Optimize project profitability through sound decision-making.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a related position.
• College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
• Demonstrated ability in direct and indirect supervision.
• Highly skilled and fully competent in conventional aspects of the subject matter.
• Ability to plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standards, devising new solutions to complex problems.
• Ability to perform most assignments independently with minimal instruction.

Minimum Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers for computer and phone operation. Occasional reaching, stooping, or kneeling may be necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision for computer work.
