Responsibilities
- Ownership of key electrical sub-systems and functionals within new DC high power charging products.
- Delivery of electrical hardware and charging functions by coordinating cross-functional decision making between hardware and software teams.
- Ownership of requirements development and coordination of sign off across multiple teams including vehicle, cloud and mobile.
- Contribute to architecture development and electrical system-level design for all charging products.
- Analyze and evaluate design impacts associated with alternate designs or new components and vendors.
- Collaborate with validation teams on system/sub-system plans for requirement traceability. This includes taking ownership of the requirements from definition through to comprehensive testing and verification.
- Proactively and independently solve routine problems, contributing meaningfully to team objectives.
- Work closely with the software team to define interfaces, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the successful integration of charging hardware and software systems.
- Analyze test data to identify performance trends and areas for optimization in electrical and power systems.
- Work closely with the design team to suggest and implement modifications that improve product performance, durability, and user satisfaction.
- Create and maintain essential technical documentation, including schematics, manuals, specifications, and test reports.
- As a highly skilled specialist, you will contribute to the development of concepts and techniques and complete complex tasks in creative and effective ways.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Typically requires a minimum of 2+ years of system engineering related experience.
- Proficiency in requirements management tools and agile project management tools (Jira and Confluence preferred).
- Proficiency in applying DFMEA’s, functional safety analysis and/or other systems engineering tools.
- Proficiency in using common languages for data analysis and leveraging AI tools as part of daily workflow.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing EV charging products or significant understanding of the EV charging space.
- Compliance experience with UL/IEEE/SAE standards is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in systems engineering within electric vehicle charging, power conversion equipment, and/or renewable energy (PV, energy storage).
- Experience working with high-voltage systems.
- Confident in use of data analysis platforms such as Databricks.
- Experience working with different communication protocols and integrating complex systems.
