Principal Systems Engineer Modeling and Simulation
Raytheon, a part of RTX, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer with expertise in Modeling and Simulation to join their Integrated Systems department in Tewksbury, MA. As part of a team of 185,000 professionals, you will contribute to solving complex problems in aerospace and defense, shaping the future of the industry. This onsite, full-time position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret security clearance.What You Will Do
- Contribute and collaborate in a team environment, receiving and contributing knowledge to advance discussions.
- Communicate with cross-functional engineering teams to coordinate design plans and requirements analysis.
- Apply knowledge of performance engineering practices and procedures to evaluate work across a wide range of subject areas.
- Manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects.
- Develop models to validate proposed architectures and designs against requirements and to shape future technology growth.
- Develop and maintain modeling tools incorporating Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with complex time domain elements.
- Analyze data to understand performance and perform root cause analysis.
- Incorporate radar system concepts including detection, discrimination, track, and signal processing algorithms to model their behaviors and analyze performance.
- Incorporate effector system concepts to model their behaviors and analyze performance.
Qualifications You Must Have
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- A minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with Digital Signal Processing in support of system design or requirements analysis.
- Experience with system modeling, algorithm development, test vectors, or analysis tools.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and/or Fortran.

- Ability to read and interpret technical design drawings and electrical schematics, applying them to system understanding and analysis.
- Proven ability to take ownership of tasks and lead technical efforts across multiple stakeholders, with strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Experience with system requirements capture, design, and decomposition, supporting end-to-end system development.
- Strong background in radar system concepts including detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms, and associated behaviors and performance analysis.
- Experience with data analysis and statistics using large datasets, conducting studies (definition and execution), MATLAB-based model development, and producing credible analytical results for customer-facing presentations.
