About the role
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist participates as an integral member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, working closely with physicians, residents, fellows, and nurses to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based therapeutic recommendations in inpatient and/or outpatient clinical settings. Performs medication stewardship, assists with clinical protocol/pathway development, and participates in medication safety and quality initiatives. Serves as a preceptor to pharmacy learners, provides education to the pharmacy department, and recommends patient-specific medication therapies to enhance the patient experience and ensure high quality customer service. Supervises technicians and other support personnel in the proper storage, preparation, distribution, and documentation related to medication use in the organization.
