About the Service
Our Client is funded by the NHS and commissioned by the local CCS. They provide a coordinated Occupational Therapy service for children and young people aged 0–18 years with significant disabilities and complex health needs.
The team supports children in early years settings, mainstream schools, and special schools, focusing on functional difficulties in self-care, school-based activities, mobility, and posture. They aim to help children achieve their potential in daily living activities through tailored interventions.
About the Role
As a Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will work as an autonomous practitioner across a range of settings, delivering high-quality occupational therapy to children and young people with complex physical, learning, and social needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a specialist caseload and providing evidence-based interventions.
- Writing reports for EHCPs and multidisciplinary assessments/reviews.
- Offering specialist advice to other professionals and caregivers.
- Supervising students on clinical placement and supporting junior staff.
- Contributing to service development through audits and research.

About You
Qualifications:
- Diploma/BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Evidence of CPD and relevant specialist training.
Skills & Experience:
- Clinical assessment and intervention experience as an OT.
- Passion for paediatrics and knowledge of child development and neurodevelopment.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and work autonomously.
- Skilled in preparing clear, multi-agency reports.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and assessments.
- Experience with physical and developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supervising students or junior staff.
