About the role

Occupational Therapist – SEMH Specialist

Location: Essex 
Salary: £36,000 - £38,000
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

Our client is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to work across two sites in Essex. This role involves providing specialist OT interventions for children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, supporting their development and participation in education.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality occupational therapy interventions tailored to SEMH needs.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to embed OT strategies.
  • Provide advice and training to staff on sensory and functional needs.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reports.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working with children and young people in educational settings.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support engagement.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and manage a varied caseload.
