Job Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated and adaptable Speech and Language Therapist to support students within a mainstream Further Education (FE) setting across three campuses in North London. This role focuses on working with approximately 70 students, supporting communication, language, and learning needs to help young people thrive in an educational environment.

This opportunity is ideal for a Band 6 or Band 7 clinician who enjoys varied and dynamic work. The role offers a balance of small group interventions, classroom observation, targeted 1:1 support where required, and staff upskilling, making it well suited to therapists who enjoy a consultative and collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Assess and support students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) within a mainstream FE environment.

  • Deliver a mix of small group interventions, classroom-based support, and limited 1:1 sessions where appropriate.

  • Carry out classroom observations to inform intervention planning and inclusive teaching strategies.

  • Provide training and upskilling for teaching and support staff to promote effective communication strategies across campuses.

  • Work collaboratively with education staff and multidisciplinary teams to support student outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards.

  • Contribute to reviews, planning meetings, and service development initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

  • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

  • Experience working with young people in educational or FE settings (desirable).

  • Confidence delivering group-based interventions and consultative support.

  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

  • A flexible, proactive, and reflective approach to practice.
