About the role
Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Adults Services
Location: Leeds
Contract: Temporary (Minimum 3 months)
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday) – Part-time may be considered for the right applicant
Our client is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their team in Leeds. This role involves working with adult patients across a wide range of clinical areas, providing specialist occupational therapy interventions and supporting independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions for adults, covering:
- Older people, frailty, falls, dementia
- MSK and Neuro (including Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis)
- Medical and orthopaedic conditions
- Independently hold, prioritize, and manage a caseload.
- Provide long-arm advice and supervision where required.
- Apply knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and support patients making unwise decisions.
- Assess and recommend equipment provision, aids, and adaptations.
- Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Broad clinical experience working with adults across multiple specialties.
- Awareness/experience of MCA and decision-making processes.
- Basic knowledge of equipment provision and adaptations.
- Car driver with access to own vehicle and business insurance (essential for commuting across hub areas).
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload.
