About the role

Job Title: Locum Speech & Language Therapy 
Banding: 6 
Location: Worthing  
Duration: 2-3months 
Rate:  £28 £32 
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30am-16:30pm

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Speech & Language Therapist to join our team in Worthing. This role involves working on acute wards, including stroke, general medicine, frailty, emergency floor (AAU), respiratory, acquired neuro, and stroke rehab. The successful candidate will provide essential speech and language therapy services, focusing on swallow and communication assessments and treatment plans.

Qualifications and Experiences:

As a Locum Speech & Language Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting swallow and communication assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide comprehensive care. You will work closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes. Your role will include managing a diverse caseload, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing education and support to patients and their caregivers. Additionally, you will participate in MDT meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of therapy services.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • HCPC registered Speech & Language Therapist
  • Experience working on acute wards, including stroke, general medicine, frailty, emergency floor (AAU), respiratory, acquired neuro, and stroke rehab
  • Strong skills in swallow and communication assessments and treatment planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and equipment
