About the role

Job Title: Vascular Scientist 
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Banding: Band 7 
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months 
Rate: £52 - £65 per hour  
Working hours: Full-time

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 7 Vascular Scientist to join our client’s diagnostic imaging team in Watford. This locum role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in vascular ultrasound, looking to contribute to a high-quality, patient-focused service. The successful candidate will support the diagnosis and management of vascular conditions, ensuring timely and accurate assessments for the client’s patients.

What will your responsibilities be:

The Vascular Scientist will be responsible for independently performing a full range of non-invasive vascular investigations, including carotid duplex, venous and arterial studies, and aortic aneurysm screening. The role involves producing detailed and accurate reports, maintaining high clinical standards, and working collaboratively with consultants and other healthcare professionals. The post holder will also ensure equipment is used and maintained correctly, and contribute to service development and quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications and Experiences: 

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in Vascular Ultrasound – desirable
  • Current registration with RCCP, AHCS, HCPC or equivalent – essential
  • Proven experience in a wide range of vascular investigations
  • Proficiency in using vascular ultrasound equipment and reporting systems
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
