We are seeking a self-motivated, passionate, and resourceful Applied Scientist to contribute diverse perspectives, ideas, and skill sets to elevate the Prime Video customer experience. This role involves hands-on machine learning practice and research leadership. You will be instrumental in building and guiding machine learning models from inception, with the satisfaction of seeing your contributions positively impact millions of Amazon.com customers globally.Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop AI solutions for Prime Video Search systems utilizing Deep Learning, Generative AI, Reinforcement Learning, and optimization techniques.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers on the end-to-end design, implementation, and launch of AI solutions.
- Design and execute offline and online (A/B) experiments, performing in-depth data analyses to evaluate proposed solutions.
- Effectively communicate complex technical and non-technical ideas to teammates and stakeholders.
- Stay current with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field.
- Publish research findings in leading conferences and journals.
About The Team
The Prime Video Search Science team is responsible for the science solutions that power the search experience across various devices, covering aspects from sourcing and relevance to ranking. We work in close partnership with engineering teams to deploy our solutions into production.Basic Qualifications
- PhD, or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
- 5+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with modeling tools including R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems like Hadoop and Spark.
